Driving the Mission to Save Animals with the Spay and Neuter Cruiser
Our Mission
- Provide accessible and affordable spay and neuter options and clinics in underserved areas, with a focus on Indian Reservations
- Support rural communities that are in the greatest need of spay and neuter services
- Further the mission of our founder, the Yola and Boogy Fund, a registered non-profit that rescues and helps animals on the Wind River Indian Reservation
- Help to reduce the number of animals entering shelters and rescues
- Partner with other like-minded nonprofits, veterinarians, volunteers and sponsors to further Spay and Neuter Initiatives
- Partner with Trap Neuter Release (TNR) programs
- Provide educational information on the importance of spay and neuter
By the Numbers
- Over 6 million dogs and cats are abandoned and enter shelters annually in the United States alone
- Over 70,000 dogs and cats are born every day in the United States
- Over 2 billion dollars is spent to shelter and euthanize dogs and cats annually in the United States.
- Over 1.5 million cats and dogs are euthanized annually in the United States
- Most dogs and cats that end up in shelters are strays
Spayed or Neutered pets....
- are less likely to display aggression or behavioral issues
- may be more affectionate companions and family pets
- are less likely to mark their territory, have messy and painful heat cycles, fight with other dogs or roam or run away
- are less likely to develop cancer or develop a serious illness such Pyometra, a life threatening uterine infection
How the Spay & Neuter Cruiser works....
- We contract with local or regional veterinarians to provide the medical services
- Volunteers help with scheduling, intake and recovery
- Clinics are held mash style or a combination of the Cruiser mobile unit and an indoor facility
- We are located 100 miles north of Denver Colorado
